Description

Nice little grouping of photo’s attributed to Private William Harding of the 11th Pennsylvania Cavalry. Included in the grouping is a trimmed down quarter plate tintype of William dressed in his cavalry uniform and sporting a M1840 heavy cavalry saber and Colt M1860 Army revolver tucked into his belt. A cdv of William dressed is civilian clothes is also included as well as a post-war tintype of William taken many years later. Two cabinet cards and a smaller image, presumed to be family members, also accompanies the images. William would muster with “G” Company late in the war at the end of October, 1864. He would fight in the remaining battles of that year in which the regiment participated and take part in the Appomattox Campaign of 1865. He would be mustered out of service in August of that year.
