Item No. CV3825MF Category

Description

Wonderful view from the Brady Illustrations series showing Lieutenant John Savage Hunt and an unknown officer. John is seated to the left inside the tent. In October of 1861, John would be commissioned into the 2nd New York Heavy Artillery. Later that month, he would be discharged for a promotion into the 4th US Light Artillery. Under his command, Battery L would be assigned to the Artillery Brigade of the 2nd Division, XVIII Corps. His unit actively participated in the major Eastern Theater operations including the Bermuda Hundred Campaign and Bristoe/Mine Run Campaigns. He would unfortunately meet an untimely death in May, 1864 when he drowned. This one is slightly trimmed along the sides but otherwise a great view.
