Description
Wonderful sixth plate tintype of a pair of two infantry NCO’s. The two young men sit side by side with one of the men embracing his fellow corporal. Dressed in four button sack coats, each young man wears field made corporal’s chevron’s on the coat sleeve. One of the men sports a waist belt with a single roller buckle with a Sheffield knife tucked into the waist. The clarity of this image allows one to view every single design of that silver handle on that Sheffield knife! The other man wear’s an earlier militia eagle waist plate with what appears to be a Colt M1849 revolver tucked into the belt. Just a great looking image! Housed in a full leatherette case with a repaired spine.
