Early war or just pre-war ninth plate, clear glass ambrotype of a Massachusetts militia soldier. Dressed in a dark frock with very thin cloth shoulder tabs. Large, Massachusetts state buttons run down the front of the coat. A militia style cap is worn with the Massachusetts state seal pinned to the front along with a brass letter “G” representing his company. The original photographers advertisement card remains’ behind the image indicating he sat for this view in Boston. Housed in a very nice, full thermoplastic case. Very nice image.
