Description
Super nice sixth plate tintype of a double armed yank infantryman. This fellow definitely has a Western Theater feel about him. Dressed in his sack coat, his cartridge box is worn over the shoulder and visible on his hip. A US waist belt is worn with the cap box shown and his empty bayonet scabbard. With his musket held at his side, the bayonet is fixed in place while he sports a small caliber revolver tucked into his waist belt. A black felt slouch cap is worn with brass infantry insignia pinned to the front and the photographer has taken the liberty to add the numeral “21” to the front of the cap as well to indicate his regimental designation. Sharp looking image housed in a full leatherette case with a repaired spine.
