Description
Trimmed down quarter plate melainotype of this unidentified Federal infantryman. He is posed here in front of what has been referred to as the “Camp Michigan” back drop. Full standing pose dressed in his infantry frock, his hands are about as black as coal, and I mean black! His US waist belt is worn with the cap box and bayonet visible as well. For some reason, each button on the coat has been purposely scratched out, as has the small pin that is attached to the breast. This one measures 4″ x 2.5″. I do not have a case or any hardware for this one. It does not appear to have ever been cased so there are several small creases throughout.
