Description
Quite possibly one of the most iconic locations of the war, countless photographs were taken of both soldiers and civilians alike at this popular point atop Lookout Mountain. Photographer Robert M. Linn, would operate a studio perched on top of the mountain and would capture an untold number of photographers from this location and several others. This carte view shows a Federal officer and two privates lounging precariously on the edge of the summit. A stereoview, which accompanies this cdv, depicts a civilian standing in the same location as these men as he points off into the distance. No photographers imprint on either of these.
