Description
Ninth plate ambrotype of what appears to be a sailor. Perhaps a merchant sailor or possibly serving with a blockade runner. Dressed in a dark, navy jumper with a wide collar and large black silk cravat. The collar and the front flap of the jumper in trimmed in red. He also sports this fantastic black felt slouch cap. I am quite certain he served aboard a ship somewhere but his actual role remains a mystery. Housed in a mint leatherette case.
