Carte view of a Federal cavalry corporal. Studio pose of this young NCO. Dressed in his cavalry trousers and service jacket. Corporal stripes can be seen affixed to the sleeve. Cavalry insignia is pinned to the top of the cap along with his unit number but there is no way to read it. Stenciled across the front bottom “J. R. Thompson”. Unfortunately there are a couple thousand troops by the name J. Thompson’s listed in the data base so good luck tracking him down. No back mark on this one either. Clipped corners. Still a sharp looking carte view.
