Description
Exceptionally nice carte view of an unidentified United States Navy lieutenant commander. Dressed in his double breasted naval frock with 4 gold bands on the cuff sleeve and shoulder boards indicating his rank as lieutenant commander. This would date the image to sometime between March and November of 1863 after which the rank insignia was changed. Nice, clean image! No back mark on this one.
