Description
Wonderful triple armed carte view identified as Lorin Disbrow of the 3rd New York Cavalry. Full standing pose of Lorin, armed to the teeth! Dressed in his cavalry uniform, his carbine sling is worn over the shoulder while sporting a rectangular New York militia waist belt. A Colt revolver is tucked into his waist belt while gripping his sword in one hand and gripping a Sharp’s carbine in the other. Lorin would muster with “E” Company in August, 1861 and would serve until his discharge in August of 1864. The regiment would fight in a dozen engagements, from the Battle of Edward’s Ferry in October, 1861, to Jerusalem Plank Road near the end of their enlistment. A period ink id on the reverse simply reads “Lorin Disbrow”. No back mark on this one but a super well armed carte view!
