Description
This is a really neat quarter plate ambrotype out of Easton, Pennsylvania. This view shows two well dressed men with a very large book open on the table between the men. A Masonic symbol can be seen painted onto the open page in gold gilt. The book is most likely a copy of “Masonic Origins of Adonhiramite Freemasonry Rituals”, which contains a collection of Adonhiramite masonry catechisms, writings, and doctrine by Louis Guillemain de Saint-Victor. It discusses freemason lodges, songs, and reflections within an assortment of small works dedicated to Freemasonry in France during the 18th-century. I do not have a case for this one, only the velvet pad which is “R. KNECHT EASTON, PA”. This one does have the resin flaking off the back which can easily be repaired. Very unique Masonic content!
