Description
Nice grouping of post war carte views pertaining to this unknown Confederate officer. The first two carte’s show a pre-war view of the officer dressed in civilian clothes followed by the same man dressed in his officers uniform. Dressed in a double-breasted grey frock, the cuffs of the jacket are trimmed with lieutenants cuff braid shown,. Two additional carte views of a man and woman who I presume are his mother and father are also included. These are all post-war views taken from the original carte’s and are likely to date to the early 1880’s. All four are back marked out of Charleston, South Carolina.
