Wearing an elongated 4-button sack coat, his trousers are tucked into knee-high cavalry boots, with yellow shoulder boards identifying his rank as a captain of cavalry. This one is blind stamped on the front by well known African-American photographer, James Presley Ball of Cincinnati, Ohio.
