Description
Wonderful ninth plate ruby ambrotype of this infantryman sporting a fez cap. Dressed in a frock with a row of eagle buttons running down the front. With the mat removed we can see that he wears the rank of sergeant on the sleeve. A small star badge for the 12th Corps is pinned to the breast of the jacket as well. He wears this outstanding red fez with a blue tassel hanging along the side. This is a ninth plate but it comes mounted and housed in a sixth plate mat and full mint thermoplastic case so it does give the appearance of being a sixth plate. Great looking image!
