Description
Very nice and seldom seen carte view of a chaplain with the Federal army. Full standing pose, dressed in his very plain frock with cloth covered buttons and dark collar signifying his role as serving as a chaplain. A 6th Corps, 1st Division badge is pinned to the breast of the coat, while another is pinned to the side of his M1851 Hardee hat which he holds while sporting a pair of gauntlets. The reverse of the card has a pencil id which appears to read, “J. H. Beave”. I am not entirely certain the last name. Back marked out of Philadelphia. You don’t see these chaplain views very often.
