Description
Very nice cate view from the series of Brady Albumen Gallery views. This one is No. 412 titled “Front Line of Confederate Works” which shows McClellan’s Battery No. 1. A large siege cannon can be seen sticking out from behind the front line breast works. A number of soldiers and officers can be seen standing about the gun with one of the men holding the sponge for the gun. This view was taken in 1862 during McClellan’s Peninsular Campaign.
