Absolutely pristine sixth plate ruby ambrotype of this baby faced rebel soldier. I can’t imagine that he is more than 15 years of age. Waist up portrait, he sports a grey, jean cloth jacket with black velvet trim around the collar. Removing the mat, one can see that the cuffs are trimmed in the identical material. I suspect he probably had Tennessee origins. The clarity and focus of the image is so great, that one can count the freckles scattered across his face. Gorgeous image! Housed in a full leatherette case with a split spine.
